I’ve tried pelvic floor therapy – can this help me?
- First, not all pelvic floor therapists or programs are created equally! If you have had a poor or unsuccessful pelvic PT experience, the likelihood is that you weren’t with the right therapist or program. That being said, our pelvic treatments (VTone, FormaV, and Morpheus8v) likely have an important role in your healing process. For more severe or complex cases, we might recommend these treatments in addition to a pelvic floor therapy program with a local trusted PT group. Our top recommendation locally is Restore Your Core who we work collaboratively with to empower and restore you to your full potential!

Frequently Asked Questions about FormaV
How do I prepare for FormaV treatments?
- Try to plan for a time when you will NOT be actively menstruating or about to start your menstrual cycle at the time of the procedure(s). We do not perform the vaginal treatments during menstruation.
- You should avoid aspirin and anti-inflammatory medications such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and naproxen for 1-2 weeks prior to treatment.
- Discontinue any irritant topical agents 2-3 days prior to treatment.
- If you have a history of Herpes, HSV, fever blisters, and/or cold sores on your mouth or genitals, please notify our team so we can treat you with medication to prevent an outbreak. Treatment will not be done during an active outbreak.
- For optimal results, we recommend trimming/shaving your pubic hair to a minimal amount prior to treatment. We may have to trim/shave you at the time of the procedures.
Are there any precautions or contraindications to receiving FormaV?
- We prefer not to treat pregnant women with this technology, as it has not been thoroughly studied in pregnant women for safety or efficacy.
- More advanced cases of pelvic organ prolapse may require modifications to typical treatment regimen and pricing packages.
- Notify our team if you are concerned about possible UTI near the time of your procedure.
- These treatments can reactivate Herpes virus in your body, causing an outbreak. If you have a history of Herpes, HSV, fever blisters, and/or cold sores, talk to us about preventive oral medication to help reduce the risk of an outbreak.
Is there any downtime after FormaV treatments?
- ~2 days:
- Avoid very hot water for at least 2 days after treatment.
- Avoid mechanical contact (intercourse, tampons, massage, etc) for at least 2 days after treatment.
What is the treatment schedule?
- Every 2-4 weeks
How many treatments will I need?
- Most women benefit significantly from 3 treatments, spaced every 2-4 weeks.
- Depending on your goals, we often recommend combining different treatment modalities to achieve optimal results. We also work with you to consider other lifestyle changes and often recommend pelvic floor physical therapy along with these treatments.
When will I notice results?
- Most women start to notice results immediately after healing from the treatment. Maximal results are usually obtained within four to six weeks after your final treatment
How long does this last?
- As with anything in life, women find that this does require some maintenance over time. There are various factors that play into this and it varies from woman to woman. Factors include aging, lifestyle, hormonal status, and which treatments were performed. We generally recommend to plan for at least one repeat treatment every six to 12 months for maintenance and some women prefer to repeat the full series of treatments maybe less frequently.

- FormaV, with its radiofrequency heating to the tissues, has a unique place in recovery from many pelvic floor conditions.
Morpheus8V
What it is
Morpheus8V is the latest innovation in women’s health that helps to address the most common feminine health concerns. As we age, we start to experience reduced collagen and elastin production that affects not only the quality of the skin but our internal organs such as the pelvic floor and vaginal canal. Morpheus8V uses advanced radiofrequency micro-needling to penetrate into the tissues to stimulate collagen and elastin rebuilding. This minimally invasive treatment helps to rejuvenate the vagina and restore integrity to the urinary tract and pelvic floor. A series of 3 treatments significantly improves vaginal dryness, intimacy sensation, and urinary incontinence. Topical numbing cream is applied to ensure your comfort, and Morpheus8V is often combined with other Empower modalities to meet your personalized goals.
What to expect DURING treatment
- When you arrive for your treatment, we will have you empty your bladder then undress from the waist down. You will be placed in a similar position as during a pelvic exam or pap smear. We will carefully apply a strong topical numbing ointment to the inside of the vagina, as well as the external genitals (labia, vulva, clitoris, and perineum). This must set for approximately 15-30 minutes to achieve maximal relief. (If you are also having FormaV done at the same time, we can do that treatment while the numbing medication is applied.) We begin the Morpheus8v treatment inside the vaginal canal and stamp the needles into place along the entire length of the vagina and external tissues. Most women only feel movement, pressure, and the warmth of the radiofrequency heat. The treatment usually takes approximately 30-45 minutes.
